Amazing spot — stunning beach, great rooms, excellent service, warm staff, and awesome tacos.
Staying at Mahayana was an absolutely spectacular experience. The location is unbeatable – right on the beach, surrounded by nature that feels almost unreal. Every morning came with a stunning sunrise, and in the evenings the sky turned into a movie-like sunset.The service is impeccable: attentive, quick, and always with a positive vibe. Everything is spotless, and the entire place feels carefully designed and beautifully maintained. The staff is incredibly kind, warm, and genuine, which adds an extra layer of magic to the stay.And the food… just wow. The taco bar is a must-try! Every dish is full of flavor, freshness, and personality – the perfect complement to the atmosphere of the place.
We absolutely loved our stay and highly recommend this venue.
We stayed at Mahayana with our family for our wedding weekend and had the best experience! We had adults and children staying with us and everyone had an amazing time. Chabely and Miriam were so helpful with every request. The service and cleaning throughout was great. The food at the taco stand was incredible! We were so impressed. We absolutely loved our stay and highly recommend this venue.

The rooms and location is very well maintained. It’s gorgeous and a little slice of heaven. The beach has plenty of seating and selection of seating. The pool was always clean and refreshing. The staff were always present or easy to get ahold of. It’s in a great location to just chill for a week or two! Chambley, Snow, and Miriam are soo friendly and helpful. It’s so peaceful and quiet. We can’t wait to come back with the family!
Five Star Stay at Mahayana
We rented Casa de las Palmas, Casa Bonita and Casa Mandala for a group event. I couldn't have been a smoother experience. The site was beautiful and very well maintained. The food stand on site was incredible. It felt safe the entire time and it was far enough away from the main restaurants and bars to stay quiet but only a short walk to whatever we wanted. I would recommend this property to anyone.

Mahayana was the perfect location for our small destination wedding. The team was easy to work with from abroad and coordinating payments was a breeze. Miriam and Chabely greeted us upon arrival and made sure that all of our needs were met throughout our stay. They even greeted all of our 20+ guests and showed them to their rooms. The food on site at Mahayana is incredible; two guys kept our entire wedding party caffeinated and well-fed throughout the week. The day of our wedding, we had no issues with multiple vendors coming on site. The manager came to thank us for staying with Mahayana and made sure that nothing else was needed. The rooms and homes are spacious, unique, and even have air conditioning. The courtyards, pool, and beachfront were immaculate and well-kept by the property staff. The cleaning staff were also top-notch. We will definitely be staying at Mahayana again the next time we are in Tulum!
Private beach club
We did a four day group trip to celebrate getting married and had an amazing experience. It’s basically like having your own beach club and the concierge worked very hard to make sure we had everything that we needed.
Amazing, gorgeous beach vacation in Tulum
We stayed at Mahayana in Casa Las Palmas for 6 nights as part of my brothers wedding. We loved it so much and can’t wait to come back. Stepping out into the sand everyone morning to catch the sunrise and then a bit later order a beautiful fresh breakfast from Juan at the Taco Stand (how I miss our fruit bowls, yogurt bowls, and chilaquiles) was such a joy. My daughters loved playing in the ocean and the pool every day. We took advantage of the grocery delivery service, as well as the private chef one night for dinner - highly recommend the chef cooking dinner for you, at $75 per person, that is a great deal for the wonderful quality of food you get in the comfort of your own kitchen. The Taco Stand is delicious for lunch, too - we loved the fish tacos and ceviche. We also loved going to the two places south of Mahayana (real coconut and la zebra) for their smoothies and sopa de Lima! Miriam was absolutely fantastic and responsive in so many ways. The many staff members who cleaned our house daily and kept the grounds and beachfront pristine were wonderful as well. I knew the Yucatán was my favorite part of Mexico already but this was my first time in Tulum and man do we love Tulum! What a special place.
A True Taste of Paradise!
The ultimate property for your Tulum travels. This is my 2nd time staying at Mahayana and it is a true oasis. This is a one of a kind experience especially for the typical bustle of Tulum. Mahayana feels like it's own little universe and dreamy beach escape while being in a prime location. Every little detail from the room decor, to raw wood of the mirrors and the outdoor showers is exceptional. I can't recommend this property enough.
Mahayana...perfect in every way!
Mahayana is a perfect place to stay in Tulum. We rented three of the five homes: Casa de las Palmas, Casa Bonita, and Casa Gaia and couldn’t have asked for anything better. Other family members rented the two remaining houses so we had the entire property for our week long family gathering. The location of Mahayana is ideal. We walked everywhere, both by street and beach. Before our arrival, Snow, Miriam and Chabely were so helpful and responsive in everything, from choosing which houses would be best for our extended family to coordinating the shuttle to/from Cancun airport. During our stay, Miriam and Chabely were always available to help in anyway. Upon arrival and departure, the security staff quickly and efficiently handled all our luggage. We ordered groceries ahead from Riviera Maya Grocery, so our refrigerators were stocked when we arrived after a long day of travel. (We highly recommend this additional service.) The homes are beautiful, spacious, unique and comfortable and the property is designed with natural vegetation for privacy between houses. The beach is amazing with Caribbean white sand and warm water and the sunrises were spectacular every single day. Mahayana is magical and we are all ready to go back!!
Charm of Tulum Exists at Mahayana
We rented the entire property for our family and wedding party. It was such an incredible experience having all of our loved ones just steps away from each other's villas. The staff keeps the property spotless from the daily housekeeping services to the daily exterior maintenance. The villas are all clean, comfortable, and beautiful. The pools and oceanfront views are breathtaking. We could not have found a better location to spend our wedding room and will cherish our stay forever! The property manager Miriam was such a pleasure and helped make our stay perfect.
