Mahayana has an addition to the property! Tucked into the lush flora of Mahayana is our Eclectic Treehouse. The Treehouse offers a unique and rustic way to experience the beauty of Tulum beach and the Mahayana property.
Carefully crafted with natural materials amidst a canopy of tropical palms our Treehouse offers a humble way to connect with the beach and the sea.
The treehouse is built for free-spirited and adventurous guests who will enjoy full use of the luxurious amenities of Mahayana - private beachfront, seaside pool, daily housekeeping, guests-only Taco + Breakfast Stand, and our guest services.
Please note the Treehouse embraces the sounds of the community that surrounds us. The walls are built with slender tree trunks that have become a trademark of local architecture in Tulum. The treehouse is not suitable for light sleepers or sound-sensitive guests.
For a more peaceful stay, we suggest our Casa Gaia option which is front row directly by the sea.

Amazing stay with Snow! Wow the treehouse is awesome and the pictures do not do it justice. Not even 30 seconds walking to the beachfront to beautiful crystal blue waters. The whole team was very accommodating and even helped cater with a birthday we had whilst out there. The fish tacos are also a must try!
It is adorable and perfect for two people and you still have access to all the amenities.
This was our third time coming to Mahayana. The first two times we came, we stayed in the large house. We were there in 2023 for my 60th birthday. My five sons and their wives/girlfriends also came and there was plenty of space for everyone. We loved it so much that we came back this year for my 62nd birthday. The location could not be more perfect. Situated right in the middle of the hotel zone so you are surrounded by amazing restaurants and shops. Directly next-door is Luna wellness which offers wonderful yoga classes every day. My favorite part about our stay was the private chef right on the beach who cooked us amazing breakfast and lunch every day. Everything we ate was delicious and tasted so healthy and fresh. To not even ever have to think about breakfast or lunch truly was a vacation. This last time, my boyfriend and I stayed in the treehouse. It is adorable and perfect for two people and you still have access to all the amenities. Can’t recommend Mahayana highly enough.

Es literal una casita de árbol. Esta super mona todo muy bonito. Todo en chiquito pero aprovecharon cada rincón. Como es una “casita de arbol” si se escucha el ruido de afuera. Lo padre es que esta super bien ubicada muy buenos restaurantes a dos pasos de ahi.

My friend and I stayed in the treehouse for a friend's wedding in Tulum in February and we had the most magical experience. We both said on our travels back home, that we will definitely be coming back to Mahayana. Miriam & Chabely were amazing hosts and super helpful/patient in the process of check-in and throughout our time when we had any questions. Chabely came up to our treehouse on our first day there and was SO kind and chatted with my friend and I. She was so personal and was excited to hear about our wedding weekend plans. She gave us great recommendations for around Tulum (where to shop and where to get out pesos from an ATM too!) It was so lovely. In the treehouse, there aren't full/cement walls (real treehouse vibes!), so was definitely happy to have our mosquito net over the bed at night, but even on the hot days, we never felt overheated inside and it was always a cool respite to return to. They had an A/C unit and a fan that was plenty for us. There was also a kitchenette with two stove tops and a mini fridge which was plenty for what we needed. They also had a water purifier that was always full for us to drink out of. We had another group from the wedding also staying at Mahayana in one of the big houses, which we visited and it was GORGEOUS. We also had friends staying at their sister property, Zorba, which was right down the beach from us.Each day we would get back from our explorations and we would have fresh towels, our dishes put away, our bed made, and the sand swept from our floors. Every morning the staff would go down to the beach and rake the sand so it was free of seaweed/sticks/etc and it always was beautiful to sit there and watch the sunrise. Our beachfront was always so peaceful and felt far away from all of the hustle and bustle. On the windy day they sprayed down the sand so it didn't fly up in our eyes too! We were a 5 minute walk on the beach away from Alaya (where they had yoga classes every morning - for about 17 US$ - Highly recommend.) There were so many places within walking distance from our place (ice cream, tacos, drinks, jungle gym, etc) and it felt like the perfect location!Overall, an incredible stay, beautiful weather, and amazing staff. I would recommend this place to ANYONE looking for an incredible trip experience. We will definitely be back!

This has been my favorite , magic place for a long time!!! I always come back to its beauty and coziness. The people here are unbelievable beautiful, kind, helping in every situation. Every day cleaning, security and delicious food 🥘
Relaxing Stay
Went to celebrate a friends birthday and stayed in the treehouse. Wonderful time and an attentive staff that answered all of our questions and made everything smooth. Would recommend and definitely would come back!
Beautiful beach front access
We stayed in the eclectic treehouse. It was fun, but definitely make sure you're okay with noise late at night and not super cold air conditioning.The cleaning at Mahayana was top notch. From the daily cleaning crews of the homes, to the crew cleaning the beach- it was always clean.The security was also great. There was always a security guard or two between 8pm & 8am. I loved the sense of security felt by knowing that.I can also not say enough good things about the location. The private beach front access was gorgeous, and you are within a 20 min walk from anything and everything you'd want to do in the hotel district. The only time we left for was a yoga/cenote tour, which we booked through Mahayana. I definitely recommend it! It was a lot of fun and a great price for transportation (about a 30 min drive), a guided yoga class, aromatherapy, fresh fruit & juice, and time in the cenote.The only thing we had an "issue" with at Mahayana was trying to get change for large US bills, so please consider that when planning for your trip :)We would definitely come back, but we would book a home instead of the treehouse!
Mahayana everything you need
If you are looking for the real Mexico and the real Caribe, it is Mahayana, Mahayana is everything you need, the property is located in the best part of Tulum between all the facilities, but it is still quiet enough to have your privacy, the houses are equipped with everything you need, the base is beautiful it looks directly at the sea, so at least it serves breakfast and lunch, I can serve it to you in the yard under the fire or bring it to your room, on the property you have all the props for playing in the sea, the cleanliness is at a very high level, the staff who work are very dedicated work and standing are always up to you.this is one of the best places if you are looking for houses in Tulum, every recommendation from our side and from now on this will be our regular destination

We loved our stay in the Treehouse. It was great having beachfront property with ample access to cabanas and the pool. The staff are very friendly and the grounds are well maintained. The location is just off the busiest part of the strip, so everything is walkable but you’re not right in the middle of all of the commotion. We got a lot of warnings about the noise pollution from the neighboring restaurants, but as NYC people it didn’t bother us at all. You can definitely hear the music, but they provide earplugs (we didnt use) and the music never kept us up. We didn’t like Tulum as a city, but we loved our stay at this airbnb and would highly recommend it to anyone.

The treehouse is located close to the streets so there is some noise during the night because of the bars and restaurants, but you you can relax at the pool or on the seaside during the day to compensate. the premises is on the beach which is nice, and you have allot of restaurants and bars in the same streets on walking distance which is very nice!
